Tommy started his show career by winning 9 points in two days, including Winners Dog at
the 1998 Greater Chicagoland Basenji Club specialty show- he was just 4 days past his 6 month birthday.
He finished his title in just 8 shows, with three major wins and a Best of Breed from the classes.
He ended the year as one of America's Top Ten Basenjis, having only been "Specialed" for 5 months.
He was a Top Ten Basenji again in 1999 and 2000.
He won Best of Breed at the Basenji Club of Southern California Specialty in both 1999 and 2000.

Tommy also excels in the field.
He is a Dual Champion, a Master Courser and an All-Breed Best In Field winner.
Tommy finished 2001 as the number 2 Lure Coursing Basenji in the country.
He was only the 2nd Basenji (and the first Champion) to earn a Lure Courser Excellent title.
He repeated the same impressive feat by earning his LCX II title.

He earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title in August of 2006.

In mid-2010, Tommy was diagnosed with a bone marrow disease.
In July of 2011, he could no longer fight it.
He is sorely missed.

Tommy had a great temperment and loved to play - both with humans and canines! Here's a shot of him playing in the group ring with his friend, Fanni.
